“Audiences outside of Ireland don’t [often] get a chance to see and hear what our Irish culture is really about, but are instead fed a derivative of the real thing. I had a very clear objective: to find young performers who were evidently amongst the best exponents of Irish traditional music, song & dance in the world today.
I am not exaggerating when I say… ‘I found them’. — Eric Cunningham (Producer)
The Young Irelanders comprises eight sensational performers who have traditional Irish music running through their veins. Though still in their 20’s and 30’s, these performers have achieved more than most people would aspire to in a lifetime. Between them they have performed for many heads of state, US Presidents, the Queen of England, the President of China, Empress Mchiko of Japan, performed at Radio City Music Hall, Kremlin State Palace in Moscow, the US Capitol, and Detroit’s Fox Theatre. Several ensemble members have been lead performers with Riverdance and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, been soloists on PBS Specials, shared the stage with Bono, and have collaborated with Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) and Sting (The Police).
