“I learned to sing when I was about four or five years old singing along to pretty much every Elvis song I could get my hands on” — Kurt Stevens
Kurt continued his study of piano and music theory under the tutelage of internationally renowned Maestro Harold Brown. While competing in many piano competitions around the state of Florida, Kurt won national awards for his performance skills and his interpretation of the classics.
Kurt’s taste in music was developed during his childhood from the music that his father had constantly playing around the house. Early influences were artists such as The Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC and his childhood idol, Elvis Presley.
A self-taught singer and guitarist, Kurt began to play regularly in public, developing his country playlist with songs by Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Hank Williams Jr. as well as Kenny Chesney and Johnny Cash.
His solo performances, as well as the Kurt Stevens Band shows continue to be one of the top acts in the Tallahassee area. Playing in front of college crowds or in an intimate setting, Kurt’s love of performing comes through with every note and every song he sings.
As a resident of Vero Beach Florida, Kurt Stevens has also built a strong following in South and Central Florida where he plays at the most popular venues such as his favorite, the Riverside Cafe’ in Vero Beach. In 2016, Kurt has headlined the Martin County Fair, Indian River County Fair, Hooked on Music Festival and several venues this summer.
Kurt’s songwriting also flourished over the last two years. A five song demo EP has just been released in late September 2015 featuring songs such as “Makin’ Moves and Movin’ On, Take Me Home, and Little Black Dress.
